Kara + Justin + Jackson
Fabyan Forest Preserve had been on my location wish list since moving back to Illinois, and it absolutely delivered. Between the winding paths, ivy-covered stonework, and pockets of golden light peeking through the trees, it felt like we stumbled into a summer fairytale.

A Family Photoshoot on the First Day of June
Picture this: the first day of June—sunshine filtering through the trees, a soft breeze in the air, the sweet sound of baby giggles, and Mom’s playful calls echoing through Fabyan Forest Preserve in Geneva, IL, as she tried to get her baby boy to smile. This session with Kara, Justin, and their 8-month-old son, Jackson, felt like the kind of afternoon you want to bottle up and keep forever. Jackson was full of curiosity and charm, flashing gummy grins and wide-eyed wonder everywhere he looked.
We let the hour unfold naturally—Kara’s laughter ringing out as she worked her magic behind the scenes, Justin’s calm and steady presence, and the way they both lit up when holding their little boy. It all felt beautifully effortless. These are the sessions I live for—the ones where real moments take the lead, and the in-betweens become the memories you’ll treasure most.
I left that day with a full heart, a camera roll of sweet moments, and a renewed appreciation for this season of sunshine, family, and fresh starts.
